Zoledronic acid prevents the erosion of bone material. It increases bone hardness and positively influences the formation, mineralization and mechanical properties of bone tissue. It reduces the risk of hip fracture and the incidence of new vertebral fractures in patients with osteoporosis. It also exhibits anti-cancer properties that may boost its effectiveness in the treatment of bone metastases and is efficient in the treatment of osteoporosis, hypercalcemia, and preventative against the growth of cancerous cells. The treatment is administered through an intravenous drip lasting several minutes.
